My experience with blogging has been very engaging. I enjoy having a space where I can share thoughts and ideas in a more informal way than traditional assignments. I think it allows for much more creativity, especially when it came to setting up our blog and choosing styles and colors. Blogging has helped me with understanding the importance of clarity when writing.

I think using AI in education has pros and cons. One pro is that it can be a helpful tool to get students started. It can be hard to come up with creative ideas for assignments or to figure out how to put your thoughts into words for an essay and I think AI really helps with that. A con though, is that it is really easy for students to cheat and not think for themselves. I think if AI is used thoughtfully and responsibly, it has the strong potential to support learning.

For portfolio #10, I used generative AI to create a lesson plan. I did not have to tweak it at all, it gave me a precise and thorough lesson plan. I think it is important to be very specific when writing prompts to generative AI. I was specific, which is why I got the lesson plan I wanted first try. Next time I would be more specific about an activity though.

I think in my future teaching career, I would use AI for lesson planning. I do not think I would use it that much with my students since I hope to teach elementary school. I think AI is a good tool to build on ideas and in elementary school you are still learning the ideas that older students use AI to build off of. If I did use AI with my students though, I would be very transparent with parents and families on hoe it is being used.
