In my K-12 years, I used different tools for distance learning, especially when we couldn’t go to school. I used Google Classroom and Zoom to get assignments and join live classes. These tools worked well most of the time, but sometimes there were problems like internet issues or distractions at home. I haven’t tried virtual reality for learning yet, but I would like to because they seem fun and could make lessons more interesting.

Open Educational Resources, or OER, are free learning materials like books, videos, and worksheets that anyone can use and share. They help students and teachers by making learning easier and cheaper because you don’t have to buy expensive books. Teachers can also change these resources to fit what their students need. I found this article about OER:https://www.odu.edu/facultydevelopment/article/unlocking-the-potential-of-open-educational-resources-trends-benefits Here is a brief synopsis: The article explains that while OER are often noted for saving students money, their impact goes further—such as increasing accessibility for underserved learners, supporting flexible course formats, and enabling faculty to adapt materials to fit their students’ needs. It references research showing that student outcomes using OER can be comparable to those using traditional commercial materials. It also highlights challenges, such as ensuring quality, aligning OER with course objectives, and raising awareness among educators.

In Assignment 4, I learned how to make better PowerPoint slides by organizing information clearly and using pictures to help explain ideas. I didn’t like spending a lot of time looking for the right pictures and fixing the slides. Next time, I want to start earlier. This assignment helped me feel more confident using PowerPoint to share information.
